Strong Chance of Thunderstorms Today, Rain Tonight

1. There is a strong chance of thunderstorms today, according to the National Weather Service. Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. Wind could gust as high as 30 mph. 2. DC Parks and Recreation Department will host its first-ever G.R.P.A. (Georgia Recreation & Park Association) District 5 Track and Field Championship on Saturday and Sunday.   The event will be held at .  The hosting agency, Douglas County Parks and Recreation, will welcome compete in the two day event.  Field events will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday while the event will resume on Sunday at 1 p.m.  It is expected that 250 male and female athletes from ages 6-15 will be on hand to compete in this State Qualifier.  The top finishers will compete in Augusta, Ga. in the GRPA State Championship.
