Photo Contest: Submit Your Best Shots to 'Visit Douglasville'

The Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is sponsoring an exciting new photo contest that highlights the best of Douglasville and Douglas County. The contest is entry free and open to picture takers of all ages. Each month, photographers can submit up to two original high-quality photos in the categories of nature and wildlife, festivals and events, family fun and adventure, agriculture, arts and culture, parks and recreation, buildings and landscapes, seasons, and downtown Douglasville. Photographs with people are permitted.

The Visit Douglasville Photo Contest is designed to showcase Douglasville and Douglas County at its best to entice interest and attract visitors to the area. Contest photos will be posted on the Visit Douglasville Facebook page each month for voting and the picture with the most likes wins. Photographs must be submitted by the last day of each month to be entered in the upcoming month’s contest. The Douglasville CVB is currently accepting submissions for the month of August and will announce the winner the first week of the month.

Winning photographers will receive $25 in Douglasville CVB Downtown Dollars that are redeemable at participating businesses in the downtown area. Each month’s winning photo will be featured as Visit Douglasville’s Facebook cover photo, and will be used as an official Visit Douglasville postcard. Additionally, winning photos will appear on the Visit Douglasville website, in the Douglasville CVB’s quarterly newsletter, and showcased at a photography art walk during National Travel and Tourism Week in May 2015.

“The contest is ongoing, and submissions are accepted monthly. In addition to winning great prizes, the photo contest is an excellent opportunity for photographers to show off their work,” said Kimberly Bridges with the Douglasville CVB.

Submissions must be in color and may be sent to the Douglasville CVB by mail or e-mail. If mailed, prints should be saved to a CD-R (Compact Disc-Recordable) and sent to: Douglasville CVB, 6694 East Broad Street, Douglasville, GA 30134. E-mailed images may be forwarded toinfo@visitdouglasville.com. For either submission method, images must be high-resolution jpeg or tiff files that are five megabytes or larger.  Each submission must be accompanied by a photo contest entry form and be the original work of the submitting photographer.
