New Vote on Tag Design, Dabble in Fine Arts or Chat With the Chairman
These are the five things you need to know today, July 18.
- New tag design to be voted on again. Confusion over "In God We Trust" decal prompts governor to call for another vote. Beginning Monday, Georgia residents will have another chance to vote for a new license plate design. This past Thursday, the Georgia Department of Revenue revealed the three plate designs that received the most votes during an on-line contest. Read Patch story here.
- The Fine Arts Academy will be held the at from today to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon, for kids who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade. This is open to the public. The cost is $80 per child (limited scholarships available). The academy is a fun, education and creative journey to discover and encourage the development of children's musical abilities. - Chat with the Chairman with will be held today from 6 to 7 p.m., , Beulah, Bankhead Highway just west of . Admission is free and the event is open to the public. This is a one-on-one conversation with Chairman Worthan on any topic. There is no agenda and no sound system. Just drop in.
- The Praise Party Vacation Bible School begins today, through Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the , 8510 Newman Street (behind on Fairburn Road). Admission is free and is open to the public. The bible school is for ages pre-K to adults.
