New Pottery Lab, Car & Truck Show
These are the five things you need to know today, Sept. 16.
- After three years of fundraising, is ready to open its new Ceramics/Pottery Lab. The school purchased two new kilns and six pottery wheels for the new Ceramics Lab and students are already using the equipment. Douglasville’s , a Chapel Hill Middle Partner in Education, helped complete the project with a donation of aprons, buckets and sponges for the students to use in the lab. Partners in Education is a program, designed to provide a hands-on opportunity for local businesses and organizations to share their expertise, time, ideas and experience to enrich the students in our community schools. - Frank P. Dorris American Legion Post 145 will host their Annual Car, Truck, Motorcycle Show on Saturday at 10 a.m. American Legion Post 145 is located at 6449 Veterans Memorial Highway Douglasville GA, 30134. Food and refreshments and $7 barbeque plates. Vendors are welcome to participate, call for details regarding vendor fee. - Monday, from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. there will be an open meeting to the public announcing a new Jobs & Career Initiative in the Douglasville/ Douglas County area. This is sponsored by "GEN" God's Employment Network. - GreyStone Power Meeting of Members. On Oct. 8, Corporation will host its Annual Meeting of Members at the cooperative’s main office in Douglasville, located at 4040 Bankhead Highway, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. All GreyStone members and their families are invited to attend. This year, GreyStone marks its 75th anniversary, and the meeting will celebrate members “Lighting the Way” in the community for 75 years. Highlights include a Together We Save Energy Efficiency Expo, health fair, Georgia Child Identification Program (GACHIP), carnival rides and hot air balloon rides.
