Commissioner Mulcare: Air Grievances Over Tomorrow World

In this letter to the editor, District 3 Douglas County Commissioner Mike Mulcare invites the public to a meeting to air grievances and discuss strategies over Tomorrow World.

Editor's note: The following is a letter to the editor by Douglas County Commissioner Mike Mulcare, district 3.

Dear Friends and Neighbors –

I know that we have just experienced the worst l-o-n-g weekend in Douglas County history for noise penetrating our homes, destroying restful sleep for entire families and dreadfully impacting our quality of life in many ways. It’s time to discuss what our options might be going forward.

I ask you to attend a community meeting. While we will certainly air many grievances over this event, the main purpose will be to focus on effective actions and strategies in a community meeting.

Date:             Saturday, Oct. 19

Location:      Shepherd of the Hill United Methodist Church (corner of Chapel Hill Rd and Dorsett Shoals)

Time:             9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

By this date I expect to have in hand a resolution from the Douglas County Commission clearly addressing this issue with Fulton County. I will be meeting with Chairman Eaves of Fulton County on Monday, Oct. 14.

I will also ask that we form an “action committee” to keep momentum focused, unrelenting and in the hands of impacted citizens. Volunteers for this committee are welcome to email ahead of the meeting.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Finally, please forward this message to neighbors as you feel appropriate.

Regards - Mike
