1 Meet Bobby Bowden
Where/When: , Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Why Go:  An auction and hors d'oeuvres will be at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner and presentation will be at 7:15 p.m.  Autographed Sports Memorabilia, trips and other packages will be available for lower than retail prices. Donations and a portion of your ticket purchases are tax deductible.

2. 15th Annual Georgia Cowboy Poetry Gathering
Where/When: Theater, Saturday, at 5:30 p.m.
Why Go: Founded by Joel Hayes, the CAC Cowboy Poets held its first Georgia Cowboy Gathering in 1997. These Cowboys know how to wrangle some prose.
Pricing: $12 ($10 for CAC members, seniors and students.)

3. Reception for Youth Art Month
Where/When: The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County is will hold a reception for the annual Youth Art Month at the Cultural Arts Center on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Why Go:  The exhibition celebrates the talents of children and young people in the Douglas County Schools, represented by more than 200 art works created by students in kindergarten through twelfth grades and selected by their visual arts teachers. The reception is hosted by Friends of Arts and Music Education (F.A.M.E.), a CAC satellite organization. A special cake decorated with images of the art works on display has been created for the occasion by the Publix on Chapel Hill Road in Douglas County.

 4. 2011 Douglas County Band Festival
Where/When: ,  being held Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Why Go:  The festival consists of performances from all of the middle and high school bands from Douglas County schools, in a judged competition.

 5. Youth Art Month Exhibit Opens in the Courthouse Gallery
Where/When: Third Floor of the Douglas County Courthouse on Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Why Go:  Features art from students in the Douglas County School system.
