Little or No Snow, Possible Sleet

The Douglas County Honor Band performance and a quickly made Super Bowl recipe are just two of the things you need to know before you leave the house today, Feb. 4.

  1. Little or no snow is expected today, according to the National Weather Service, but there's a slight chance of sleet before 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., it should be all rain, with a 100 percent chance.   2. The Douglas County Honor Band Performance will take place on Feb. 13, in the Mashburn Theater at Douglas County High School starting at 2 p.m. The admission is free but the seats are available on a first come, first served basis.   3. Severe Weather Awareness Week in Georgia will be Feb. 7 through 11. The week’s activities begin with Family Preparedness Day on Feb. 7, when all Georgia households are encouraged to program their NOAA Weather Radios and create Ready Profiles to get a customized checklist of emergency supplies and a tailored family communications plan.
  4. The is now accepting applications for the Leadership Douglas. The mission of Leadership Douglas is to identify, encourage and develop leadership abilities so that its participants grow both personally and professionally.
