'Higher Ground' High School Art Featured at Courthouse
All exhibits in the Douglas County Courthouse Art Gallery have free admission and are open to the public at any time the Courthouse is open
The talents of high school students in the Douglas County School System are being featured during January in the Courthouse Art Gallery. Thirty-four pieces of art from high school students are on view through Jan. 30
including mixed media, pencil, photography, ceramics, and pen and ink.
Student art is annually exhibited in the Courthouse Art Gallery to give the artists an opportunity to display their talents to the public, quite often for the first time. Art from high school students is annually shown in January, middle school students in February, and elementary school students in April. March is Youth Art Month with art from all Douglas County schools. Art that is displayed is selected by the school art teachers.
All exhibits in the Courthouse Art Gallery have free admission and are open to the public at any time the Courthouse is open. The Gallery is located on the third floor of the Douglas County Courthouse.
