Get Vaccinated, Douglas Health Officials Say

The agency's challenge coincides with National Hepatitis Awareness Month, which is held every May.

Cobb & Douglas Public Health officials are encouraging parents and caregivers to get Hepatitis A and B vaccines for their children.

The agency's challenge coincides with National Hepatitis Awareness Month, which is held every May.

"The most effective way to prevent either virus is to receive the Hepatitis A and B vaccines," said Karen Thomas, the agency's district immunization director.

Vaccines for Hepatitis A and B are available at all Cobb & Douglas Public Health locations. In Douglasville, there are three locations: 6770 Selman Dr., 6457 East Strickland St. and 8700 Hospital Dr., 1st Floor.
