1. Free Assistance on Dealing With Foreclosures

Deal: Hosted by Piece-by-Piece Douglas, this free west metro Atlanta foreclosure workshop will address the impacts of foreclosures and outline actions to improve those situations. The meeting is open to elected officials, community development/planning and zoning professionals, real estate professionals, homebuilders, chambers of commerce members and interested residents.

2. Free First-time Homebuyer Workshop
Deal: This free Saturday event will cover such topics as budget and credit, downpayment assistance, loan and real estate processes, insurance and inspections and much more. The West Georgia Board of Realtors is hosting the event at its office.

3. Free Bridal Showcase
Deal: Free for all brides and their guests is the Douglasville Bridal Showcase on Saturday. Hosted by the Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau, the event will present bridal services available in the city. Brides in attendance also may register to win prizes.

4. Free Jazz on Saturday
Deal: A free jazz concert will be presented by Douglasville in the city's downtown district on Saturday night. Performing will be instrumentalists Milkshake Mayfield and Joel Cruickshank.

5. Parking Lot Sale in Powder Springs
Deal: Many bargains may be found at this two-day sale on Friday and Saturday in the parking lot of in Powder Springs. Money raised will go to various church, community and missions needs. The sponsoring organization is The Cathedral International Church, which meets at 3405 Dallas Highway in Marietta in The Village at Old Trace Shopping Center.
Among the deals are school supplies such as construction paper, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, filler paper, scissors, pencil boxes, scrapbooking paper and lapbooks. Also available will be more than 300 children's, young adult and adult fiction, nonfiction and reference books, with three bookcases of history, science and literature.
Homeschooling resources include curriculum from Bob Jones University and A Beka, teaching textbooks, Horizon and more. Also, there will be storage trays, carts and drawers. Other items to be sold include furniture, carpet, toys, baby clothes, household items, costumes, Christmas decorations and more.
