Free Mobile Mammogram Screenings Offered in Douglasville

Free mammogram screenings are being offered at a May 10 event in Douglasville.

The BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center will visit the Belk store at Arbor Place Mall from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the event day. The event features a 39-foot-long state-of-the-art screening center on wheels that will visit the retail chain’s 232 stores in the Southeast through 2015.

The screening exams are performed by licensed technologists from Charlotte Radiology.

In its first year, the mobile unit performed more than 4,500 mammograms that resulted in 14 cancer diagnoses. 

Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months and have a primary care physician are eligible by calling 855-655-BMMC (2662) to schedule an appointment.
