1. "Raise the Praise" Open Mic Night
Where/When: The Spot (a.k.a. ), Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the soulful sounds of Feature Artist : Ramona Estell, House band Flow and Kevyn Jefferson the host. Also appearing are: Ric Flo, Lady Q, Charity & Nu Anointing 4 a Nu Generation, Durrant, Jerald Dunn and Sha-Von Collier. www.taproductions.org

2. "Roundup" - Black Cowboys of Douglas County Exhibit Opens
Where/When: , Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Why Go:  Memorabilia, photographs and questions and answers with actual cowboys from a time gone by. The exhibit is also open through February from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

3. Opening of the New Douglas County High School Baseball Fields - First-Pitch Ceremony
Where/When: At the fields adjacent to North Douglas Elementary School, Cedar Mountain Road at South Flat Rock Road, 2 p.m.
Why Go: First pitches to be thrown by former DCHS baseball players Taylor Phillips and County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan.  All Douglas County youth baseball teams are encouraged to join in a pre-game parade and field participation during the National Anthem. 4. Miniature Golf
Where/When: , Saturday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: You didn't even know there was miniature golf in Douglas County. It's also fun for the whole family. Well, it is!  The courses are lit at night and there are clubs for all heights.
Pricing: $2 per course and $3 for both courses

5. Afternoon with Authors
Where/When: , Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy an afternoon with local writers and authors.
Pricing: Free
