DC Parks: Camporee Huge Success

The Parks Departments says thanks to the more than 20 families who made the Camporee a huge success.

By Chad Griffin, Douglas County Parks and Recreation

This years Camporee was a huge success. We had more than 20 families participate this year. The Camporee was held at Clinton Park on Sept. 15 and 16.Β  This year we offered many different activities. Such as, an activity lead by a local Boy Scout Group, Scavenger Hunt, Chili, Hotdogs and Cobbler cooked over an open fire and flashlight hike. We also had some great door prizes which were donated by our Local Walmart in Lithia Springs.

We would like to thank all our participants for coming out this year.Β  We would also like to thank all our sponsors. Joel Hays for cooking all that chili, Chick-fil-A on Hwy 5, Joes Crab Shack, John Willis and David Griffin (Local Scout Group) and Six Flags.
