"May was an excellent month for us," said the center's director of operations.

The Douglasville Conference Center continues to make commendable contributions to the downtown area. The facility’s adjoining parking deck provides free convenient parking for guests, as well as visitors to downtown businesses, restaurants, and events. Through increased visitor spending and hotel-motel taxes, events held at the facility continue to help fuel the local economy.

According to Director of Conference Center Operations Jennifer Bean, the past few months have been “really good” and are expected to continue to flourish this fall.

From school events, weddings, coming-of-age celebrations to corporate events, the Douglasville Conference Center remains a venue of choice in Douglasville.

“We did a lot of year-end school events including a fifth grade graduation and a senior breakfast,” said Bean. The conference center also hosted a spring dance.

“To make things extra special for our guests, Proof of the Pudding offers custom-made menus. This is one of the greatest benefits of having a professional on-site caterer. We are able to provide our customers the ultimate culinary experience complete with food and beverage options to fit their needs.”

Over the past few months, the conference center has welcomed several meetings and corporate events and hosted a quinceañera with over 300 guests.

“May was an excellent month for us,” said Bean. Additionally, repeat customer Printpack hosted its annual customer service awards banquet at the facility. “Now that we have a larger venue and Proof on board, we’ve really been able to step up our service and take events like these to the next level.”

The conference center also hosted Standard Enzyme’s annual three-day natural health care conference and a two-day event for Cornerstone Sew & Vac. In addition, Gordon Foods employees and their families attended a relocation trade show at the venue.

“We are glad that we can offer a premier facility for people and businesses to host their events in Douglasville. The venue is beautiful and everything is here to stage a successful event including great service and location, on-site catering, and complementary parking. Proof of the Pudding’s skilled chef and sales manager are on the premises and are here to help make your culinary experience enjoyable,” said Bean. “Proof has an extensive inventory including chairs, props, and other specialty items that can add an extra pizzazz to any event.”

Amenities that were not available at the conference center’s previous building are now offered at the new state-of-the-art facility. Conference center guests can enjoy better parking, bridal suites/green rooms, a larger multifunctional ballroom, advanced audio/visual technology, and more flexible meeting space.

Over the next three months, the conference center will host eight weddings and is expected to bring even more events to the facility this fall. “We’ve also booked several holiday events,” said Bean.
