City Council Revokes Alcohol License

These are the five things you need to know today, April 5.

  1. The Douglasville City Council voted to revoke the alcoholic beverage package sales license of Swity Inc., Rakeshbhaim Patel, agent outlet manager, for the at 2911 Chapel Hill Road because of violations of City Code Section 10-4 regarding the sale of alcohol to minors and failure to verify age at the time of sale. The City Council was reviewing the license because teens are believed to have purchased alcohol at the store before a fatal car crash Feb. 19. Tune back into Patch later today for the full story.   2. The violent winds and rain are gone, but there's a chill in the air, according to the National Weather Service. There's a chance of drizzle before 8 a.m., and today will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 57.   3. Β Aqua and Chocolate at CAC. The of Douglasville/Douglas County is presenting paintings, collages and assemblages by Elizabeth Chapman in the April exhibition at the Cultural Arts Center in downtown Douglasville. The exhibition opens Thursday and will be on view through April 29.Β  The event is free and open to the public.
  4. First Old School Saturday Night. Reserve your tickets for the first-ever Old School Saturday Night in Douglasville at , held this Saturday.
