Celebrate Today with the Lady Tigers

These are the five things you need to know today, April 18.

  1. Nice weather today and Tuesday but severe thunderstorms will be back on Wednesday, according the the National Weather Service. The weather will be almost perfect today and Tuesday, being mostly sunny, with a high near 79 and 82, respectfully, with a slight wind. The National Weather Service is predicting severe thunderstorms on Wednesday with a 50 percent chance of rain and a chance of thunderstorms again on Thursday.   2. A Recognition will be held today for the to celebrate the Girls' amazing season. The well-deserved recognition will be at 5:30 p.m. at the North Douglas Athletic Complex, prior to the Douglas County High School baseball game vs. , saluting Coach Chet Forsh and the Lady Tigers for the spectacular undefeated regular season, Region 5-AAAA championship, and run at the State title.   3.  "Chat with the Chairman" with today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fire Station No. 4, Georgia Highway 166, Fairplay. The event is open to the public with free admission. Have a one-on-one conversation with the chairman on any topic.
  4. April in Paris Art Show at The Benton House will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 4999 Prestley Mill Road. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Enjoy wine and cheese and local artist displays.

  5. Pancake Breakfast Fund-raiser for Youth Football and Cheer Association  will be held Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m., Recreation Center, 2015 Mack Road.  The event is open to the public and all donations go towards the Association. Go to  www.mtcarmelrams.com for more information.
