The event had more than 80 registrants roll in with motorcycles, classic cars, new trucks, trikes and race cars.
The winners of the car/truck division were:
First place – Doug Rand, 1970 orange Ford Mustang,
Second place – “Bugsy” Precell, 1950 red Mercury Two Door,
Third place – Todd Register, 2007 blue Nissan Titan.
The winners of the motorcycles were:
First place – Ed Meyer, 2001 blue Harley Davidson Softail Deuce,
Second place – Larry Diamond, orange homemade trike,
Third place – Bobby Cruey, 2005 blue Harley Road King.
The winner of the 50/50 raffle donated all of his winnings back to the Special Olympics athletes. Additional funds were generated through the sale of chili, soups, and desserts. The His/Her Raffle baskets were very popular, offering hair care products, tool kits, etc. All of proceeds raised will benefit the Special Olympics athletes of Douglas County.
Athletes and their families are not charged to participate in Special Olympics programs. The Douglas County Special Olympics Therapeutic Board, an accredited agency through Special Olympics Georgia, in conjunction with through its programs, provides all of the monetary support necessary to fund programs offered solely to local athletes within Douglas County. The goal of Special Olympics is to provide quality programs that improve the life of every individual with intellectual disabilities.
