Boys & Girls Club Teen Center Opens

This 6,000 square foot facility can serve up to 125 kids and teens on a daily basis.

of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) in conjunction with the Business After hours hosted a grand opening for their newly built teen center Thursday. The center is designed for youth in Douglas County. This 6,000 square foot facility can serve up to 125 kids and teens on a daily basis.

Having a special place dedicated to teens is important to keeping them engaged in the Club and in positive activities. Equipped with a multi-media room, performing arts studio, stage, recording studio, games and art room, learning/technology center, lounge and a café area, the Douglas County Teen Center will be a special place devoted to keeping teens involved and active in constructive afterschool activities.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta’s mission: To save and change the lives of children and teens, especially those who need us most, by providing a safe, positive, and engaging environment and programs that prepare and inspire them to achieve Great Futures.

  • More than 91 percent of our Club members come from disadvantaged circumstances
  • BGCMA membership is consist of 55 percent boys, 45 percent girls and 32 percent teens
  • BGCMA impacts the community through:

o   Club members graduate from high school at a rate of 87 percent, compared to the national average of 66 percent
