Audition for Poetry TV or the Movies

Get off the couch and listen to a violin and piano performance at the CAC or knock it around a bit on a miniature golf course.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time.

1. VIOLIN AND PIANO PERFORMANCE
Where/When: , Saturday at 7 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: You always complain there's nothing to do nearby. The Lark Duo, with violinist Vera Ilyushina and Lana Polgol on piano, will  perform, and afterward a reception will be held in honor of the musicians.
Pricing: $15 per person; $12 CAC Member

2. CITY MANAGER GAME RELEASE
Where/When: , Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: This game features Douglas County and is a great way to get children involved in local civics.
Pricing: Free entry, Game may be purchased for $19.95


3. BECOME A WORLD-RENOWNED POET
Where/When: Any time before registration deadline, Feb. 15.
Why Go: You want to win a book contract and be seen all over the world? The American Poet—GA Sports project is borrowing from the American Idol legacy and the home audience will vote for the winner. The show will be broadcast on Cable TV and Internet TV so that a global audience can tune in and choose their favorite. All ages and experience are eligible to register for auditions. 4. MINIATURE GOLF
Where/When: , Saturday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: You didn't even know there was miniature golf in Douglas County. It's also fun for the whole family. Well, it is!  The courses are lit at night and there are clubs for all heights.
Pricing: $2 per course and $3 for both courses

5. BE IN A CASTING FOR A MOVIE
Where/When: Fayetteville, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Why Go:The There will be a casting call held by NYC Casting and New Life Casting. They are looking for a variety of paid extras to portray characters during the Depression Era for the movie, "Wettest County." Filming begins near the end of February and they have a need for various Caucasian and African American individuals. The casting call is at 100 Governor's Trace, Suite #105, Fayetteville, 30215.
