Are You the Next Douglasville Idol? Auditions Begin This Weekend

Auditions are scheduled June 7 and 14.

The S.H.A.R.E. House is proud to present the 11th and All Star Talent Competition held on July 4th sponsored by GreyStone Power Corporation. Auditions for the competition will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 am and Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 am at Hunter Park, 8830 Gurley Road in Douglasville.

The Douglasville Idol contest will feature only solo singing in the following categories: Pop/Rock, Country, Gospel, Broadway, or Contemporary Christian. The All Star Talent competition includes duets, trios, small ensembles, dance routines, magicians, jugglers, etc. not to exceed more than eight people per act.

Applicants for both categories (singing and talent) from 10 years of age and older are accepted and must be of amateur status. A registration fee of $25 must be paid on or before this date. Registration fees are non-refundable.

All registration forms must be filled out completely. Only applicants with completed forms and paid fees will be considered on the day of audition. If applicant is under 18 years of age, a parent signature is at noon at Hunter Park during the Festival in the Park.

Performances must be no longer than 4 minutes. Those longer than 4 minutes and those that are not in good taste will not be accepted. The audition will be without music.

For the July 4 performance and competition, a karaoke CD or accompaniment tracks are preferred. If you are chosen, you will be notified before you leave the audition. The performance and competition will be on Friday, July 4 at Hunter Park beginning at noon (after the 4th of July Parade in Downtown Douglasville).
