Douglas Co. Welcomes New Librarian

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners has named Ms. Jennifer Rapier as the new Branch Manager for the Douglas County Library on Selman Drive.  She is a Florida native who grew up in California but has roots in Georgia.

“I have always loved reading and inspiring others to read.  I knew I wanted to be a librarian from an early age.  I have a BA in English and a Masters in Library and Information Science.  During my career, I have spent three years working in school libraries and six in public libraries,”  said Rapier.

She is excited about this new opportunity and happy to be in Georgia.  “I visited relatives in the South growing up.  We have family here and heard so many positive things about the Atlanta area that we decided to relocate here last fall,” Rapier said.  When Ms. Rapier is not busy she enjoys music and outdoor adventures.  As for now, Ms. Rapier’s time is spent getting to know the patrons of the library and learning how the programs work.
