We are proud to offer our community our Outstanding Citizens Program. The
Outstanding Citizen of the Month program recognizes those students in their
Senior year at each of the 5 Douglas County High School who possess good moral
character and are involved in their community. One student from each of the 5
high schools in our county are presented with a plaque and a check for $50 from
our funeral home. A photo of the presentation is taken and is placed in the
Douglas County Sentinel Newspaper. Of these students, one student from each
school will be selected at the Outstanding Citizen of the Year award at the
conclusion of the school year. These 5 students each receive a trophy and a
check for $500 from our funeral home. These presentations are made during the
Senior awards' events at each of the schools.
