School Cancelled, Hazardous Weather Outlook with Wind Chill Advisory

Douglas and Paulding Counties are currently under a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Wind Chill Advisory by the National Weather Service.

All school has been cancelled and the NWS is calling for "gusty winds and bitterly cold temperatures that will combine to produce dangerously cold wind chills this morning. Wind chills below 0 degrees for most of north and central Georgia are expected and wind chills may drop as low as 20 to 30 degrees below 0 in the higher elevations."

The Wind Chill Advisory, in effect until 1 p.m., means "that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite or hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors...make sure you wear a hat and gloves."
