2014 EQIP Sign-Up for Douglas County

EQIP is a voluntary program that provides financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices.

USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service has announced that the 2014 Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) cut off date is Dec. 6, 2013. EQIP is available to farmers, including vegetable/fruit/honey producers, livestock and forestry producers.

EQIP is a voluntary program that provides financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns and for opportunities to improve soil, water, plant, animal air and related resources on agricultural land and non-industrial private forestland.  There will be on-site sign up for Douglas County on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 1pm to 4pm at the UGA/Douglas County Extension Office, 6279 Fairburn Rd, Douglasville, GA  30134, 770-920-7224.  For additional information contact Valerie Pickard at 770-792-0594, ext. 101 or visit our website at http://www.ga.nrcs.usda.gov.
