The Girls On Good Ground mentor program has a "Life Skills" Focus this month of Health and Wellness: This week's featured guest is a licensed professional counselor. She will speak to the teens related to life topics relevant to today's issues of mainstream society concerns. A presentation will be provided and open forum discussion held on how to make choices that are Healthy Decisions that will make for life's most positive outcomes.

We look to forward to seeing you there and invite others to attend this event and they too can learn more about how to make Healthy Decisions to get the results they desire in their life and learn more about the Girls On Good Ground mentor program.

The Girls On Good Ground mentor program is a Christian faith based program of Blessings at the Cross. The program consist of teen girls between the ages of 14-18 years old. They meet two hours one day a week. They participate in a small group study for one hour with a different focus topic each month and they have a one hour Life Skills focus study component. The current focus topic is "Forgiveness: Breaking the Power of the Past" a small group study book is used and the author of this book is Kay Arthur.

The Douglas County Public Library has a wealth of resources to offer, from books and movies for sale to Georgia State Tax forms.  Patrons can enjoy reading within the library's comfy confines or enjoy the little garden area in front of the building, maintained by the Master Gardeners of Douglas County.  Fifteen public computers are available for use, as well as free Wi-Fi.  Preschool Story time is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the library's meeting room.  Charlotte Hurt is the current County Librarian.
