The Thoughtful Christian Book club will return this summer! Join Rev. Scott in reading and then discussing two of the books he is reading for one of his classes. The June book will be Digital Disciple: Real Christianity in a Virtual World by Adam Thomas. The group will meet June 26th in Room 120 at 7pm. The July book will be Viral: How Social Networking is Poised to Ignite Revival by Leonard Sweet. That meeting will be August 1st in Room 120 at 7pm.

More About First United Methodist Church of Douglasville
Even before there was a Douglas County, Franklin Winn, a local preacher, held worship in neighboring homes around the area. Eventually a church was built two miles west of the present Douglasville city limit, called Flat Rock Church. In 1966 the church was opened at its present site on Prestley Mill Road. A new family life center was added and opened in February, 1989. First Baptist Church of Douglasville currently has a congregation of about 500 people.
