By Kizzy Howell On Friday, Dec. 2, Santa Claus will greet the City of Douglasville with a wave and a smile as he leads the city’s Christmas parade as grand marshal. Festive floats will be joined by the Douglas County High School Band and other organizations as they march through downtown Douglasville. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. with road closures to commence at 5:30 p.m. The parade will start by heading west on Fairburn Rd. towards Bankhead Highway, veering left onto Church Street. By Kizzy Howell, City of Douglasville The City of Douglasville is proud to announce a ribbon cutting and open house will be held showcasing Hunter Park’s new athletic complex Saturday, Oct. 15. The event will take place at Hunter Park’s Miracle League baseball field located at 8830 Gurley Rd. Activities will begin with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. followed by an open house from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited to join in the celebration.
