Sassy ID #4964
Sassy came to the shelter on May 31st as a stray pick up. She was listed as an American Pit Bull Terrier on intake and will require a fenced yard for adoption. Sassy is approximately two years old and approximately fifty pounds, she has not been spayed. Sassy came in as a very shy and scared little dog who took a couple of weeks to be able to trust people again. Sassy is sweet as she can be with people, but is listed as not getting along well with other dogs, therefore, she has been placed on the IN DANGER list for July 13 2012, along with ten others. Which means that Sassy and the others will probably be put down this coming Friday if they are not adopted or rescued before Thursday afternoon. Now is the time to save this beautiful little dog and her friends, as once the shelter closes at 5 PM on Thursday 7/12/12, their time will be up. Please come see them today or tomorrow and consider making a decision to save a life.
If you are interested in adopting Sassy, or any of the many other beautiful and sweet dogs or cats that are available for adoption, please visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving and forever home.
To learn about other animals available for adoption at Douglas County Animal Control, view the DCAC PetFinder listings on their website. or see the DC shelter pets posted and profiled daily at Rainbow Connections on Facebook. also, please visit our sister page Furbabies of DCAS on facebook.
Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily, therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter and that after all is the goal. If the pet you are interested in has been adopted, please consider giving another of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend and allow them to show you just how special they each are once they are given a chance.
Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. Don't forget, this month (July) there is a special half price adn freey spay neuter program for all kittens.
All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended time. The Douglas County Animal Shelter phone: 770-942-5961. If the line is busy, please keep trying as there is often limited staff to answer calls. However, messages left will be returned as time permits.
