Okay Folks Douglas County Animal Shelter Is FULL!

The Douglas County Animal Shelter is full. It is Memorial Day weekend and there isn't any place for them to put more animals at the shelter. Please consider coming by the shelter this weekend and next week and see if there isn't a dog or a cat, a puppy or kitten that wouldn't make a special addition to your family.

Reposted with permission of Ms. Tracy Thompson DCAC Shelter Supervisor:

"We do not have one empty run and all animals that can be paired up are! If you ever thought of adopting today is the day! We have two purebred Boxers, a purebred Husky puppy, 3 black lab puppies 8 weeks old and rolly polly, tons of teen pups of all mixes, healthy and sweet! Please pay us a visit and take homea new family member!

Please share! Douglas County is full and needs rescue! We do not charge a pull fee, we have tons of vaccinted dogs, puppies, cats and kittens that need out. Many have already been spayed or neutered. Lots of cats are combo tested! Will meet rescue at shelter outside of business hours!!"

Licensed rescue organizations can pull animals at no charge from the DCAC shelter and the supervisor has agreed to work with scheduling for any licensed rescues desiring to pull animals from DCAC this week.

All animal adoption fees for standard adoptions remain $25 for adoption and $10 for micro-chipping for all dogs and cats. Many of these animals are spayed/neutered and already have their vaccinations including rabies.
