I don't like to brag or boast but I guess I am being called out so I felt it necessary to respond. I was there when we arrested the 14 year old boy after killing his great grandmother. I was there when we arrested the man who committed murder on Yeager rd. I was there to investigate the murder last year on Thornton rd. I was there to help bring justice to a young man who was stomped to death by some thugs. I worked 36 hours straight, like many of my staff during the floods. By the way even though 7 people died, we rescued 47 people from the flood waters. I was there when we spent nearly a year investigating a drug cartel that reached to Mexico and South America and netted over 30 arrests. I was there when the Boys and Girls Club needed to build a teen center that serves hundreds of under privledged kids. I was there and paid for all the school supplies this year at the Alice Horthorne Center, supplying over 500 kids. We did the same thing last year at New Manchester High School when it opened. I was there to help Crossroads for Life Ministeries with it's work with the homeless and to educate inmates getting out of jail so they can get a job. I was there for the last 11 years furnishing Christmas gifts to over 500 needy kids per year. I was there working with the Police Department to combine our resources to better serve the community and save taxpayer money. I was there building a system that has lowered Domestic Violence in this county by 21.7%. By now you have some idea as to where I have been. In addition I have been running a Sheriff's Office with over 300 employees and over 700 inmates. In addition to that I have been building a new jail. I also served on POST Council for 5 years ( appointed by Gov. Perdue). Presently I am serving on the Sex Offender Regristration Review Board ( appointed by Gov. Deal). I serve on the North Central Georgia Law enforcement Academy Board. Now Mr. Broughton if you want to talk about qualifications, I have some of those, too.
