War Hero and Triple Amputee Breaks Ground on Home in Douglasville
American War Hero Cpl. Todd Love breaks ground on his new future home in Douglasville.
American War Hero Cpl. Todd Love climbed into a Bob Cat earth digger Thursday and broke ground on his future new home in Douglasville. It might not be such an extraordinary story except that Love lost both of his legs and left arm after he triggered an IED while on foot patrol in Afghanistan on the morning of Oct. 25, 2010.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation have partnered through their “Building for America’s Bravest” program to build Love his new “Smart Home” in Douglasville. As a major sponsor, the Home Depot Foundation has committed $200,000 to assist in building Love’s House.
In attached video, Frank Siller, chairman of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, shares the "smart home" concept of Love's new home; a letter is read from actor Gary Sinise and Love addresses the crowd and breaks ground on his new home.
In addtional video, Atlanta Falcons kicker Matt Bryant represented the Falcons’ team in thanking Love for his service.
Even though ground has been broken, officials stressed that donations and construction materials are still needed from local contractors and builders to complete Love’s Smart Home. Those looking to make a donation can go to www.TunneltoTowers.org or www.GarySiniseFoundation.org or www.BuildingForAmericasBravest.org.

Hi Rene, I think all efforts like that would have to be coordinated through one of these organizations. His house is being built on Ridge Road. Go to www.TunneltoTowers.org or www.GarySiniseFoundation.org or www.BuildingForAmericasBravest.org. You can certainly reference this article!
