Madea Goes to Douglasville?
There's speculation that writer, director and producer Tyler Perry may be moving to Douglas County, after a firm he has ties with bought 856 acres east of downtown Douglasville.
Writer, director and producer Tyler Perry may be moving to Douglas County, the AJC is reporting today. ETPC Company LLC, a firm with ties to Perry, has purchased a piece of property where more than 1,300 homes were once planned to be built.
A bit south of Sweetwater Creek State Park and I-20, the company now owns 856 acres, east of downtown Douglasville near Tributary, according to the AJC.
Known for his work as a writer, as well as stage, television and film, Perry may have purchased the property to be near his 200,000 square foot studio in Atlanta but the newspaper said his intentions are unclear.

I just moved back to Ga, and been seeking employment. I would love to land a job at your establishment. I am 58 and a lot of company don't want to hire people my age. I am a hard worker and dependable, honest and trustworthy. Welcome to Douglas County right now. You are an awesome and blessed writer. Ms. Davis

I would assume they are building a production facility. That does not mean TP would be moving here. If this is a production house there will but 2 within 12 miles of each other. The DC film commission should get active and bring in the location scouts. We have some great locations here.

i know a couple of the people on the film commission. They told me things have been active around here for the past couple of years. They said we don't hear about it much, because the movie companies keep quiet when they come into town. They don't want a crowd of people showing up where they are filming. Having Tyler Perry here in the county would be something.
