Turner Middle School Honors Their Partners in Education
The business partners were serenaded by the Turner Peace Makers under the directorship of Reginald Ferguson.
On Oct. 19, Turner Middle School hosted a program in honor of their Partners in Education. The business partners were serenaded by the Turner Peace Makers under the directorship of Reginald Ferguson. Two other students, Jaylane Toney and Camille Livingston, also gave beautiful renditions.
The afternoon’s events which were spearheaded by Turner’s Parent Outreach Facilitator, Barbara Lark, and Student Government Association Officers. Kwame Carr, principal, welcomed the guests and thanked them for their time and service. Carr spoke of the impact and significance of partnerships between the school and the business community. This point was further articulated by Houssay Diallo, SGA President; Destiny Hardy, SGA Student Outreach Officer; and Sheryl Sarpong, SGA Secretary.
All three ladies spoke of the need for continued forging of relationships between the school and its Partners in Education. The future leaders stressed that partnerships are vital in order to strengthen and enhance programs which the school has undertaken, facilitate improvement in the quality of education, and is a means of promoting community involvement within the school.
After a sumptuous catered luncheon, and a short picture taking session, the partners were given a grand tour of the recently renovated school facilities. Turner Middle School thanks all their business partners for their continued dedication.
