Any child, accompanied by an adult, is welcome to go through the Courthouse and trick-or-treat (all treats) in offices that will be marked with a smiling jack-o’-lantern on the door. Costumes are encouraged.
Trick-or-Treating in the Courthouse will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (no early starts allowed so that the offices can get ready for the kids).
In addition to the Courthouse offices, the Chick-fil-A cow and Sparky the fire dog will be roaming through the Courthouse, and SafeKids Douglas will have Halloween and other safety information to give to kids and parents. Best Bank, Sears, Dental Services for Children, Chick-fil-A and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program will also have tables where kids can get treats.
Trick-or-Treating in the Courthouse has free admission and is open to the public.
Trick-or-Treating in the Courthouse is a program of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners through its Department of Communications and Community Relations. The purpose of Trick-or-Treating in the Courthouse is to bring the community closer together.
