Tracy L. Parson Dies

Visitation will be Friday, June 22, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.

Tracy L. Parson, age 56 of Wedowee, AL and Villa Rica, went home to be with our Lord on June 20. He was born October 27, 1955. Tracy was a former Motorcross Racing Champion, winning several state cups. Tracy was such an inspiration to all that knew and loved him, as we watched his horrific battle with cancer. Many times it appeared he would not see another sunrise, to surprise us all with his wonderful smile saying, "I am not giving up quite yet."

Tracy was previously employed by Mrs. Smith’s Bakery as a transportation manager for MDS Logistics.

He was preceded in death by two beloved brothers, Ronald Parson and Robert Parson, both of Whitesburg. He was also preceded in death by his parents: Obie and Ruby Parson of Lithia Springs.

He is survived by his brother, Anthony Parson and wife Sheryl of Lithia Springs, two sisters: Brenda Moody and husband Danny of Douglasville, Cathy Parson of Villa Rica, two sister-in-laws: Lynne Parson and Nancy Parson of Whitesburg, nieces, Wendee Williams, Sheri Webb, Ashley Jones; nephews: David Parson, Keith Moody, Ron Parson, Tim Parson, John Parson, Kevin Moody and Josh Parson; best friends: Kenny Farrar, Clyde Hill and Wayne Pritchett.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Northwest Georgia Oncology Center of Carrollton, along with Dr. Randall Pierce and David Sholl. Another special thank you to his neighbor, Wayne McAmis for what he has done to be the special neighbor he was in caring for Tracy’s beloved cat Hoover!

Visitation will be Friday, June 22, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Reverend Danny Moody officiating. Pastor Frank Williams of Landmark Baptist in Lineville, AL, assisting. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with his beloved nephews, David, Keith, Ron, John, Kevin and Josh serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris, Casey and Daniel Farrar.
