Thomas Paul Camp, Sr. Dies

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.

Thomas Paul Camp, Sr., age 88 of Jackson, GA, passed away Dec. 19. He was born March 20, 1923 in Douglas County, to the late James Walter Camp and Bertice Camp. He worked as a carpenter for the Bob Starr Company and was a member of the .

In addition to his parents, James Walter Camp and Bertice Camp, he was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Jolly Camp, brothers and sisters, step-son, Dennis Jeffery and step-daughter, Helen Nash.

Survivors are: the mother of his children, Julia Margaret Collier; daughter: Julia Ann Camp Hensley and husband, Henry of Jackson, GA; sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas Paul and Brenda Carol Camp of Douglasville, Charles Edward and Bobbie Jean Camp of Villa Rica; step-children: Carol Clark Holland and her husband Larry and Peggy Brookshire, all of Douglasville; grandchildren: Tammy Hensley Minyard, Thomas Wellington Hensley, Mike Camp, Shelley Camp, Derek Camp, Orin Camp, Donna Avant, Melissa Hester, Lorrie England, Steve Nash, Christy Nash, Tracy Gantt, Matthew Jeffery, Elizabeth Jeffery; great grandchildren: Candace Miller, James Minyard, Samantha Minyard, Allison Hensley, Blake Tomlin, Allison Camp, Kristen Camp, Ricky Camp, Libby Camp, Isaac Camp, Kacy Bodley, Austin Camp, Grant Camp, Riley Camp, Justin Osborne, Sydnee Avant, Brandon Avant, Hannah England, Gracie England, Cody Gantt, Tanner Gantt, Dawson Nash, Casey Nash; great-great grandchildren: Caleb Miller, Lucas Miller, Gabriel Miller, Lexi Bodley and Hunter Bodley.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. from with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bright Star Cemetery with Derek Camp, Blake Tomlin, James Minyard, Austin Camp, Grant Camp, Orin Camp and Mike Camp serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
