When I read the list from the other day, four of the restaurants that I normally frequent had received very low scores. The night before the scores appeared we had just had dinner at Carrabbas. I've eaten there since they opened. I always considered it one of the better restaurants in Douglasville. We also have lunch at Moe's and had eaten at Johnny Rockets earlier in the week. I noticed that the fast food joints had much better scores. If the eateries with the low scores can score so high on a recheck, why don't they just keep their standards that high all the time. Now I see that Texas Roadhouse made the list with a low score. Yep, we eat there also. LOL. I do appreciate receiving these scores. Think my next meal will be at Wendy's.

One thing we, the public, needs to remember is that points off on a kitchen inspection might not be what we think. It doesn't always mean insects or quarter-inch-thick grease where it shouldn't be or workers not washing their hands after a break. I understand it can also come from glasses of water waiting to be set on a table, not being "covered", etc.

I also appreciate seeing the inspection scores, but Patch, could we get more information as to what, exactly, caused the lower score? Should the public have access to the details?

Hi Karen, we request (and normally get) the inspectors actual report for any score under 80. The report for Texas Road House is attached to this article.
