Sip, savor, and socialize at the Douglasville Summer Sampler food and wine tasting. The fundraising event, hosted by the Douglasville Downtown Development Authority (DDA), will be held tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. at the magnificent Le Jardin Blanc 11-acre estate in Douglasville. Le Jardin Blanc is one of Douglas County’s premier event facilities and has been featured in Southern Living, Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta Magazine's HOME, and I Do For Brides Magazine.

The Douglasville Summer Sampler will feature a wine tasting and scrumptious food pairing led by Sam & Rosco’s restaurant. Known for its fine dining and award-winning service, Sam & Rosco’s offers the best of classic Italian and Continental cuisines.

Tasters can sample a variety of premium wines including La Fiera Moscato, a soft, sweet white wine from Italy; Thatched Hut Pinot Grigio, a fruity white wine from New Zealand; Vini Pinot Noir, a light, fruity red wine from Bulgaria; and Lulu B Malbec, a rich, medium bodied red wine from Chile. Most of the wines sampled at the event will be available for purchase ranging from $15 to $25 per bottle.

In addition to the food and wine tasting, the Summer Sampler will feature live musical entertainment. Guests can sway to tunes of JCru Music Group surrounded by Le Jardin Blanc’s elegant outdoor oasis. JCru, led by saxophonist Joel Cruickshank, performs a genre of music including Jazz and R&B. The band has performed at Douglasville’s Wednesday WindDown concert series, as well as for audiences throughout metro Atlanta and New York.

“Live music pairs perfectly with wine tastings, and music lovers will be amazed by JCru Music Group,” said DDA board member Mary Moss from the Irish Bred Pub. “The band is known for spectacular performances that leave audiences applauding for more!”

Tickets to the Douglasville Summer Sampler can be purchased in advance for $20 or bought at the door for $25. Presale tickets are available online at www.ci.douglasville.ga.us, or at the Douglasville Welcome Center, Le Jardin Blanc and Sam & Rosco’s restaurant. As a special gift, attendees will receive a free Summer Sampler souvenir wineglass. Guests must be 21 years or older with a valid ID to attend the event.
