During the Month of June 2012, School Resource Officer, Wilson has been working with Investigations Department on sex offender verifications. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office maintains Sex Offender Registration for more then 150 current registered offenders. Wilson has been out in the community daily verifying information on registered offenders. This information includes pertinent information of their current living and working locations to ensure they are in compliance with Georgia Sex Offender Registration Laws. Registered offenders must provide this information to the Sheriff's Office and must notify them of any changes of their information by law.

Wilson will continue to do verifications for the next several weeks to ensure all registered offenders have been checked and their information is current and up to date.

Your county dot gov. then follow the links to the sheriffs office and a hyper link should be right there with maps.
At least that`s the way it works in Lumpkin Co.

Kudos to Deputy Matt Wilson as well the the Sheriffs Department for being pro active concerning the matter of sex offenders failing to register. They need to know that if they want to live in Douglas County they need to obey the law. Also, their neighbors have a right to know who they are and where they live.
