Gevin Prince, 16, pled guilty but mentally ill today in court, according to WSBTV, and received a life sentence in prison, plus 30 years, for stabbing his great-grandmother to death with a samurai sword.

Prince had been found competent to stand trial, according to a report from psychologists for the Georgia Department of Human Services. Prince is accused of stabbing his great-grandmother with a samurai sword on Aug. 15, 2011.

Prince faced malice murder and aggravated assault charges stemming from the August 2011 attack, according to my foxatlanta.com. District Attorney David McDade says Prince started attacking his family members after his grandmother wouldn't let him play a video game on the computer. McDade says Prince attacked his grandmother, Laura Prince, with a knife. She barricaded herself in a bathroom behind a door.

When Prince tried to get to his grandmother, the McDade says he grabbed a sword and stabbed his great-grandmother, 77-year-old Mary Gibbs.

Prince's grandmother testified during the proceedings.

"I love my grandson. I always told him I will always love him, no matter what. The first thing he asked, 'Is this over?'" said Laura Prince, according to my foxatlanta.com.
