Police: Man Arrested for Exposing Self, Cat Burglary

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office/Douglasville Police Department Major Case Unit arrested 20-year-old Douglasville resident Brentrez McPherson Tuesday after investigating a series of burglaries that were occurring around the Pope and Fairburn Road area, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page.

This series of burglaries was considered especially concerning because the burglaries were occurring at night when the residents were at home asleep (Cat Burglar). The incidents started occurring in the Chestnut Hills Subdivision June 1 when a black male was observed exposing himself outside of a resident's sliding glass door.

The second incident occurred in the same neighborhood, but in this case the perpetrator entered through a back window in the early morning hours and took personal property from the home owner. The resident was alerted to the intruder when the alarm sounded as the perpetrator exited the back door.

The last incident occurred on Longview Drive on July 23. In this incident, the home owner was asleep in her bedroom and awoke to a black male lifting her nightgown in around 3 a.m. When she confronted the intruder, he fled. Investigators arrived and determined that the burglar entered and exited through a ground floor window. The home owner reported personal property stolen in the incident.

The Major Case Unit developed a suspect and executed a search warrant early Tuesday morning. Once inside the suspect's home investigators recovered most of the stolen items from the burglaries. Brentrez ultimately confessed to Investigator Kenneth Conner to committing the two burglaries and public indecency incidents.
