Parks & Recs Hosts Camporee and Flashlight Hike
The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will host its 2012 Camporee and Flashlight Hike on Sept. 15 and 16 at Clinton Nature Preserve.
The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will host its 2012 Camporee and Flashlight Hike on Sept. 15 and 16 at Clinton Nature Preserve. Day activities include fishing, hiking, scavenger hunt and a project provided by a local Boy Scout Group. Night activities include games, Night Hike in the woods, hotdogs, chili and cobbler cooked over an open fire.
Tent spaces are $20 for up to four persons. Tents only please. No electricity or water available, only public restrooms. For everyones safety, dogs, alcoholic beverages, hunting equipment and off-road vehicles strictly prohibited.
Fishing equipment welcome. Curfew strictly enforced at 10 p.m. Set up after 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 and check out Sunday, Sept. 16 by noon.
Schedule of events: Boy Scout Project will start at 3 p.m., Scavenger Hunt at 5 p.m., Food will be served around 6 to 6:30 p.m. and Night Hike will start at Dark. Be prepared to do group activities on the trail!
