New Branch Librarian Named

Kelley Springer has been named Branch Librarian of the Douglas County Library branch on Selman Drive.

The has announced that Kelley Springer has been named Branch Librarian of the branch on Selman Drive. Springer brings more than a decade of library experience to her new post.

Springer earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford, and her Masters in Library and Information Science from Long Island University. She has served as a Library Media Specialist, Reference Librarian, Children’s Librarian, and Computer Teacher before coming to the Douglas County Library System.

She stated that her goal is tobring professionals, students and patrons from diverse backgrounds into the 21st Century Library.”

Springer will report and be responsible to Lindy Moore, Douglas County Librarian.

The Douglas County Library System is composed of three libraries: Douglas County, Lithia Springs, and Dog River. The libraries are part of the West Georgia Library System, which covers 18 libraries in the five counties of Douglas, Paulding, Haralson, Carroll, and Heard.

Douglas County Communications Director Wes Tallon is the Chairman of the West Georgia Library System. The Douglas County Library System is supported by tax dollars from Douglas County citizens, and State of Georgia funds.
