Navy Vet, Thomas G. Maddox Dies
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 25, at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Glenn Rountree and Rev. Samuel Edwards officiating.
Thomas G. Maddox, Sr., age 74 of Douglasville, passed away, Tuesday, May 22. He was born Dec. 14, 1937 in Atlanta, to the late John Thomas Maddox and Eunice Louise Shackelford Prokop. He was a member of the ROTC at Druid Hills HS. He entered the navy reserves, in 1958; later entering active duty. He was a member of West Metro Church of God.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Inez Daniel Maddox of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law: Thomas “Tommy” and Judy Maddox, Jr., of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law: Duane and Gina Maddox of Temple, daughter: Ellen Grogan of Douglasville; sister: Bethlyn of Colorado Springs, CO; brother and sister-in-law: Merrill and Doreen Maddox of Hampton; sister-in-law and spouse: Irene and Charles Jackson of Villa Rica; grandchildren: Kevin Maddox, Keith Maddox, Talor Hayes and Tilor Hayes.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 25, at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Glenn Rountree and Rev. Samuel Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Matthew Edwards, Jeff Edwards, Greg Edwards, Jason Bryant, Tyler Edwards and Chuck Jackson serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Keith Maddox and Kevin Maddox.
The family will receive friends, today from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
