Marine Vet Curtis William King, 67, Dies

The funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Deacon Ron St. Michel officiating.

Curtis William King, Jr., 67 of Douglasville, passed away Monday, April 22. He was born Oct. 16, 1945 in New Rochelle, NY.

Curtis was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in Vietnam, Sergeant 1st Class with Hotel 2/7. King was retired from Con Edison. He was an artist working with stained glass and oil paintings and also loved gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis William and Rose Gallello King and his brother, Frank King.

He is survived by his wife, Frances King of Douglasville, GA; children, Joanne Harris and husband Keith of Savannah, GA, David King of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Heather, Shannon, Keith, and Teagan Harris; brother, Gary King and wife Diane of Rayland, OH; 1 niece and 2 nephews.

The funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Deacon Ron St. Michel officiating. Interment will be Friday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC., with full military honors.
