Man Sells Prescription Drugs to Agents; Stolen Jewelry Pawned

In unrelated cases one man was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department in a jewelry robbery and one was arrested for selling prescription drugs to agents.

On Sept. 8, The Douglas County Sheriff's office received a report of a theft that took place at 2866 Brook Dr. A large amount of jewelry was taken from the home, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page. The case was assigned to Investigator Matt Gray in the property crimes division. Adam Dawkins of Douglasville has been identified as the suspect in this case and warrants are pending for his arrest. The investigation proved that Dawkins took the stolen jewelry to a local pawn shop and sold a portion of the jewelry to a pawn shop employee. That employee was identified as Olexander Alyeyev of Douglasville. Olyeyev failed to document the purchase of the jewelry and was arrested for that violation.

The Warrant Fugitive Division arrested Timothy Bennett on outstanding warrants issued by the Special Investigations Division, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page. Bennett sold prescription narcotics to agents working and investigation in late August early September. Last week Bennett's father, William Bennett was arrested on sales of prescription narcotics stemming from this investigation. He appeared before the local magistrate the morning of Thursday, Oct. 18.
