Chad Eugene Pierre-Louis, 25, was convicted on charges of second-degree child cruelty and received 10 years, with eight to be served behind bars, as well as a $1,000 fine for his part in the beating of a 3-year-old boy on the side of the road last November, according to a report in the Douglas County Sentinel.
Pierre-Louis was present when Suzie Elie, 24, was seen by witnesses hitting her son with a switch on the side of the road, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page.
The sentence, handed down by Douglas County Superior Court Judge David Emerson, could have been worse the Sentinel reported, since he had been charged with aggravated assault, first-degree child cruelty and battery in the case, but was acquitted on all three charges. The maximum sentence for second-degree child cruelty is 10 years to serve 10.
Elie, pleaded guilty to beating her 3-year-old son and received 30 years, with 20 years to serve behind bars in a Douglas County courtroom two weeks ago, according to wsb.com.
Ellie pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, family violence, child cruelty and battery after Douglas County prosecutors said she severely beat her son last November, the report said.
Assistant District Attorney Rachel Ackley told the court she kicked and beat him with a tree limb because he woke up crying, according to WSB. "That's it. A 3-year-old little boy woke up and he cried. And for that he received one of the worst beatings I've ever seen," Ackley reportedly said.
The beating took place on the side of Cave Springs Rd. and Ashton Court.
Elie is of Haitian decent and she is likely to be deported.

this is bullshit. that is my brother up there he did not do anything to that child he was not even at the sight of the beating, he just showed up after it all went down. And to give someone 10yrs for not calling the police thats fucked up. America is turning to shit espcially when they are far more worst things going on out there then this. We need to justice. Im not saying what the girl did is right but for my brother to be caught up in something he had no part of and do so much time is just not fair.

There is this really cool thing called "The Appeals Process". If you think that your brother was wrongly convicted, use his right to appeal. None of us were there, so we don't know whether he did it or not.
