Robert Green, 20 of Winston, was charged with felony theft by taking and possession of burglary tools, after being discovered with two air conditioning units in the bed of his pickup truck.

Douglas County Sheriff's deputy Myers, with the Sheriff's Crime Suppression Unit, stopped the truck near Bright Star Rd. Due to the recent increase in air conditioning thefts, Myers questioned Green about where the units came from, according to the Sheriff's Facebook Page.

"After several attempts to lie about where they came from he finally stated he stole them from the abandoned building on Douglas Blvd. beside KIA after responding to the building it was discovered there were two missing from that location," reads the report.

According to arrest records, Myers is being held in the Douglas County jail on $9,000 bond.
