Inmates Clean Up Local Cemetary

Douglas County Sheriff's Department cleaned up and improved the 19th century Winn-Watson Cemetery recently.

 

Douglas County Sheriff's Department cleaned up and improved the 19th century Winn-Watson Cemetery recently, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page. The cemetary is located on North Flat Rock Rd. off Cedar Mountain Rd. in woods behind the Rufus Nicholson farm northwest of Douglasville.

Inmates worked with the cemetery committee repairing and restoring headstones, removed leaves and fallen branches.

The cemetery commission would have trouble functioning were it not for the hard work of these inmates every Thursday. They're the best! As an aside, someone has fired 5 or 6 shots at close range through that county cemetery sign in the Winn-Watson cemetery. If you know anything about it, please report it to the Sheriff's Office.
