When a developer purchased the land behind my home that used to be a 150 acre apple orchard to make yet another sub division, he tore down a tremendous amount of trees. They left some of the land barren. I began to notice some strange objects in this cleared area. Turns out it was becoming a dumping site for old appliances, etc. I think those guys who advertise to clean out basements find it cheaper to just find a wooded area to use as a dumping site then to pay the fees that the dump charges.

I'm surPrised that's the worst thing you found back there, that road was a miniature dump. And cops would only go down that road to try and bust kids hanging out back there.

I heard that another developer purchased the land but he hasn't done anything with it either. One of the trees on that land just uprooted and it fell on my property. I had to hire someone to clear it. I wish these contractor would be responsible for the property whether they build on it or not.
